2018-2019 Student Ambassadors
The Dauphin County Technical School Student Ambassadors are a select group of students who confidently lead in the effort to educate others about career and technical education. These students represent the DCTS in many ways. Student ambassadors apply for the opportunity to be student leaders for DCTS; taking part in mock presentations, interviews, and an application process. Student ambassadors are excellent public speakers, role models, are confident and knowledgeable about all career and technical programs offered at DCTS. They inspire and educate potential students and Dauphin County communities about DCTS.

DCTS' very own, Tyler Kauffman has earned the title of Pennsylvania State, Skills USA President, 2018-2019. CONGRATULATIONS TYLER!

Letrele Roberts from the Building Construction Technology program was awarded the LP Lions Club Outstanding Citizenship Award this month.
Student ambassadors visit Paxtang Elementary
On January 10, 2019 DCTS student representatives traveled to Paxtang Elementary School to talk to the elementary students about their career and technical programs, as well as doing hands-on activities with the students. Student representatives: Letrele Roberts, Building Construction Technology; Flavio Rotta, Building Construction Technology; Zildjian Irani, Building Construction Technology; Serena Tankersley, cosmetology; Kathryn Petrilla, Normality Zero robotics team; Michael Donar, Normality Zero robotics team; Peter Apeti, Normality Zero robotics team.
Student ambassadors visit Linglestown Elementary
On January 10, 2019 DCTS student representatives traveled to Linglestown Elementary to talk to the elementary students about their career and technical programs, as well as doing hands-on activities with the students. Student representatives: Makayla Boyer, Masonry; Alexis Knowles, Veterinary Assistant; Brandon Meck, Cosmetology; Michael Donar, Normality Zero robotics team; Kathryn Petrilla, Normality Zero robotics team; Prudence Kinsey, Normality Zero robotics team.
Student Ambassador visits CD East School Board meeting
On January 14, 2019, Dalia Matos, junior student ambassador from Building Construction Technology, spoke to the Central Dauphin East School Board about her experiences, education and opportunities at the Dauphin County Technical School and how DCTS has positively impacted her life. She was accompanied by Dr. Peggy Grimm, Dauphin County Technical School Administrative Director, Mr. Robert Brightbill, Building Construction Technology instructor, and Mrs. Christine Noll, vocational transition counselor.
Student Ambassadors visit Chambers Hill Elementary
On January 15, 2019 DCTS student ambassador representatives visited Chambers Hill Elementary School to represent DCTS and speak about their career and technical programs with the students there. They all provided brief lessons with the elementary school students, providing career awareness to the 5th grade class. The student representatives who participated included: Serena Tankersley, junior, Cosmetology; Inziha Duffie, senior, Carpentry; Letrele Roberts, senior, Building Construction Technology; Flavio Rotta, senior, Building Construction Technology; Zildjian Irani, senior, Building Construction Technology; Makayla Boyer, junior, Masonry; Alexis Knowles, senior, Veterinary Assistant.
Business of Wellness Career Exploration
On February 6, 2019 students from the Medical Assistant and Health Careers programs, as well as other students who are interested in the medical field travelled to the Capital Area Intermediate Unit to attend the Partnership for Career Development’s program entitled “Business of Wellness Career Exploration.” Students attended multiple sessions and listened to health care professionals speak in order to gain awareness of the opportunities that exist. The students were accompanied by both Ms. Cline, health careers instructor, as well as Ms. Noll, vocational transition counselor.
