Wreaths for World War II Veterans
Mr. Arnold’s O.H. students created the memorial wreaths for the World War II veterans’ trip to Washington, DC this past Sunday. Dr. Lacey's wife and her middle school students organized the event, which took 90 WW II veterans to see their memorial in DC. The veterans laid wreaths at the WW II memorial, directly in front of the Pennsylvania section of the memorial. The largest wreath was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery. This is a great honor, which is granted through the Pentagon. Four WW II veterans, each representing a branch of our armed services, laid the wreath with assistance from the honor guard. The attached pictures are from both ceremonies. These experiences deeply affected the veterans, and they all said they would remember the trip for the rest of their lives. The OH students played a vital part in creating a wonderful and meaningful experience for these vets.
