SUMMER SCHOOL
2007
The Dauphin County Technical School will conduct
a summer school program for students from Central Dauphin, Derry Township,
Halifax Area, Lower Dauphin, Middletown Area, and Susquehanna Township School
Districts.
Courses may only be taken to earn credit for
a course that the student has failed in the past. Students must have completed
one year in 7th grade to be eligible to attend summer school.
Summer school courses will be two hours in length.
Dates: June 25, 2007 through July 31, 2007. School is not in session July 3 or July 4.

STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR
OWN TRANSPORTATION
Credit - One academic credit is awarded for each
summer school course successfully completed. One-half credit may be earned
for Health, Physical Education, or Driver Education courses at a reduced tuition
fee. Students may obtain one-half credit for other one-credit courses, but
must pay for a full credit and must meet course requirements. Please call
to inquire regarding one-half credit courses. Only the principal can approve
one-half credit for one-credit courses.

SUMMER SCHOOL TUITION FEES
Summer school tuition is $130.00 Per Credit.
Health, Phys. Education, and Driver Education are ½ credit courses. Tuition
is $90.00 per ½ credit.
Checks should be made payable to: Dauphin County
Technical School or DCTS
Payment for summer school must accompany the
registration form for the student to be scheduled for summer school classes.
No refunds will be made after summer school starts. If a check is returned
for insufficient funds or another reason, attempts will be made to contact
the person who issued the check to DCTS. If these attempts are not successful
or if the person does not pay tuition in full, the student will be withdrawn
from summer school promptly.
Summer School Attendance Regulations:
· To receive one credit a student must not miss
more than three classes.
· To receive one half credit a student must not miss more than two classes.
· There are no excused absences in summer school, all absences are unexcused.
· Three times tardy (late less than 30 minutes for a summer school class),
equals one absence.
· More than 30 minutes tardy equals one absence.
A student will be dismissed
from summer school for the following reasons:
1. The student becomes a discipline problem and
interferes with the teacher teaching or
other students' learning.
2. The student is absent more than the days allowed.
3. Smoking on school property or adjacent properties.
4. Fighting.
5. Serious violations of other school policies.
Summer school is only 5 weeks long. We do not
spend a great deal of time with attendance and discipline issues. Students
are here to learn and teachers are here to teach. Disruptions are not tolerated.
The principal's decision on dismissal is the final word on matters of discipline
and attendance.
Summer School Dress
Code - Regular school clothes shall be worn. Shorts are permitted if below mid thigh.
No tank tops or spaghetti straps. The dress code will be enforced at the discretion of the summer school principal
and staff. If clothing is determined to be offense, it should not be worn
