Saia

Dr. Andria Saia–Executive Director

Dr. Andria Saia joined the CAIU as Executive Director in January, 2018. Previously, she was the Assistant Superintendent of the Chester Upland School District from 2013 to 2017. As Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Saia managed student services and transportation; coordinated with the Board on development and revision of board policy and the establishment of administrative regulations; supervised secondary principals; and served on the Superintendent’s leadership team and as the union liaison. Prior to Chester Upland, Dr. Saia was employed by the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, first as the Assistant Director of Special Programs from 2009 to 2011, and then as the Director of Alternative Education Services from 2011 to 2013.

Dr. Saia received her Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education in 2009. She now holds a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility, as well as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction and Supervisor of Special Education certifications.

Before becoming an educator, Dr. Saia earned her JD from Widener University School of Law, Delaware, and was a practicing attorney and shareholder for 10 years in a law firm specializing in school law, providing legal services to public school agencies across the Commonwealth.

 
 

Dr. Peggy Grimm- Administrative Director

Dr. Peggy Grimm- Administrative Director

Dr. Peggy Grimm joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School in July, 2007 as the high school principal. She began her career in education as a long-term substitute at DCTS in 1986. In 1988, Dr. Grimm was employed by the Central Dauphin School District as an art teacher, primarily at East and Central Dauphin High Schools. After receiving her Master's Degree in School Administration (2003) from Temple University, she became an assistant principal at Big Spring High School. Dr. Grimm earned her Doctorate of Education in 2009 from Widener University. After serving as the DCTS high school principal from 2007-2012, Dr. Grimm was appointed as Assistant Director in August 2012 and Administrative Director in May 2013.

Mrs Traynor - Assistant Director

Mrs. Sandy Traynor - Assistant Director

Mrs. Sandy Traynor joined Dauphin County Technical School as Assistant Director in May 2013. She was previously employed as Assistant Director/Principal at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center. Sandy is a former Business Teacher and Cooperative Education/Workforce Development Coordinator with the Chambersburg School District. She earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education (minor in Anthropology), and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. In addition, Sandy holds the following certifications: Vocational Director Certification, Penn State University, K-12 Principal Certification, Shippensburg University, and Cooperative Education Certification, Penn State University.

 

Miss Zaharick, Business Administrator

Miss Maria J. Zaharick – Business Administrator

Miss Maria J. Zaharick joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School as Business Administrator in January 2002. She started her career at the Harrisburg office KPMG, LLP in October 1997 as an Assistant Accountant and also served a Supervising Senior Accountant for the firm. Miss Zaharick received her Master's Degree in School Business Leadership from Wilkes University in 2009, Bachelor's Degree from Shippensburg University in 1997 and her Certified Public Accountant license in October 2000.

 

 Wright

Mr. David Wright - Principal

Mr. David Wright joined the DCTS family for the 2017-18 school year after four years as the principal of Annville-Cleona High/Middle School and six years as an administrator in the Central Dauphin School District at both the high school and middle school levels.  Mr. Wright taught high school English at East Pennsboro High School for eight years, also serving one year as their Dean of Students.

Mr. Wright grew up in the city of Philadelphia and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lebanon Valley College after a three year tour of duty in the US Navy.  He earned his Master of Education degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2006.

 

Mrs Mosteller, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Gwen Mosteller - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Gwen Mosteller is a graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/General Science. Gwen received her Masters of Education degree in Educational Administration and Principal Certificate from Shippensburg University. She also obtained her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Temple University. Mrs. Mosteller previously served as an Assistant Principal at Williams Valley High School.

 

 Andi 2

Ms. Andi Wallack - Assistant Principal

Andi grew up in Philadelphia and earned an academic scholarship to Temple University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Education with a specialization in Secondary Mathematics. She taught Mathematics for 15 years, working with students of diverse backgrounds in both middle and high school settings. During her teaching career, she earned a Master of Arts in Education from Gratz College, with a focus on meeting the learning needs of all students. Next came a position as a Professional Development Specialist with an Intermediate Unit, a regional agency that supports the initiatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In her eight years there, she worked with educational leaders, teachers, teacher assistants and others to improve teaching and learning outcomes for students in 15 school districts. She completed a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 2012. Andi’s first position as a school administrator was in Vermont, at a small, rural school serving grades 7-12. Andi is excited to join the DCTS leadership team to achieve its Mission: “to prepare students to enter post-secondary education and industry with the attitude, skills, and knowledge necessary to be successful in a constantly changing and competitive world”. On a personal note, Andi has three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren. Outside of school and family, she enjoys reading, dancing, and sports.
 
Messersmith


Mr. Dwain Messersmith - Assistant Principal


Mr. Dwain Messersmith joined Dauphin County Technical School as an Assistant Principal in the fall of 2017. Dwain is a graduate of Millersburg Area High School. He also graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Education. He taught Technology Education at Big Spring High School for 17 years. During that time, he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with a K-12 Principal Certification from Wilkes University.

Ms Rodriguez, Technology Coordinator

Ms. Priscilla Rodriguez - Technology Coordinator

Ms. Priscilla Rodriguez joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School in December 2008 as the Data Specialist and became Technology Coordinator in July 2009.  Ms. Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and Management from Albright College and is pursuing her Master's of Education Degree with a major in Instructional Technology through Duquesne University.  Before joining DCTS she worked at the Harrisburg School District as the Pennsylvania Information Management Systems Administrator.

Miss Jan Zeager - Special Education Director

Miss Jan Zeager is a graduate of Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish. Jan received her Masters of Education Degree in Special Education from Millersville University. She also obtained her Special Education Supervisory Certification from Millersville. Miss Zeager was previously employed as an emotional support teacher at Middletown Area High School.

 

 

Maroney

Dr. Barbara R. Maroney - Adult Education Coordinator

Dr. Barb Maroney has several years of experience working with adult students in the higher education arena.   This work included administration, enrollment management and program development at the associate, bachelor, and master degree levels.  She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Maroney has a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia.  She joined DCTS as the Adult Education Coordinator in October of 2015.

  Denise Cafe

Mrs. Denise Green - Food Service Director

Mrs. Denise Green joined Dauphin County Technical School as the Food Service Director in 2010. She is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Mrs. Green began her career in Dietary at Villa Theresa Nursing Home at the age of 16. She has been in food service for over 30 years and in school food service since 1998. With the ever changing Government Regulations and the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, she continually strives to meet the challenges and opportunities to serve our students a healthy, tasty and enjoyable Breakfast and Lunch every day.
