English as a Second Language Program (2010-2011)

English as a Second Language-7400
Grade Placement: 9,10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: This course is for students who have been identified as English Language Learners.
Instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking the English language will be the focus of this class as well as socialization and developmental skills and familiarizing the student with school culture.  Study and organizational skills in content area classes will be supported.

Annual ESL Testing

In April ESL students will be taking the 2006 Annual State English Language Proficiency Assessment.  This is a yearly assessment mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

It is important that students do their best work.  Eating a good breakfast and getting a good night’s sleep is essential for the student to do their finest job on this test.
