Technological advances in business and industry have created the need for employees with specialized skills in the area of information processing, and candidates qualified for administrative assistant and other office-related positions are projected to be in high demand for the foreseeable future. Business Technology Applications is designed to prepare students for certification in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access, while providing opportunities to apply those skills to the mastery of banking, accounting, communication, and other business office functions. The successful Business Technology Applications graduate will be prepared to apply a wide array of skills and knowledge to entry-level office-related positions in Dauphin County, which will provide the graduate with flexibility when seeking employment. The successful graduate will also have a solid foundation that will allow them to master new office technologies that are certain to emerge in the future, which will enhance the graduate’s opportunities for advancement.
